Requiem - The dragon's fall

I've been falling
through the abyss of my consciousness
falling with every step
dying with every breath

Failing my expectations
my dreams
my life
and my mind

My pride is shattered
my wings are in pieces
I have no light and no darkness left
just a deep and endless vacuum

I'm losing my mind
but there is no mind to be lost
I'm losing myself
where there's no self to be reclaimed

Today
I walk the desert of the living
lurking among the dead
wondering if they would ever see me

I can't find myself in the mirror
I can barely see myself
no wonder
the mirror does not see me

Whatever remained... (of my former self)
is there no more
whatever it was
no proof it ever existed remains
